Solana Dashboard To Track Blockchain CO2 Footprint

The crypto business has been dealing with a persistent PR issue related to high carbon emissions. Solana made the decision to use a new tool to increase transparency in order to refute the myth that blockchains are energy-hungry.

The Solana Foundation unveiled an integration that evaluates its carbon emissions in real time on Friday, April 21.

The network’s energy usage, carbon footprint, and network power intensity, among other indicators, will be tracked by Solana’s new emissions tracker.

To make real-time data accessible to everyone, the tracker will pull information from software deployed on Solana validator nodes.

The foundation launched a dashboard that will publish emissions data every two weeks so that average consumers can access this information.
