Stablecoin Giant Circle Is Launching a New Payments and Remittance Network.
Circle, the firm behind the $60 billion USDC stablecoin, is launching a new payment and cross-border remittance network on Tuesday—the company’s “next product” move—from its plush New York City headquarters, high on the 87th floor of One World Trade Center.
The launch event is aimed at banks, fintechs, payment service providers, remittance providers, and USDC strategic partners. It will feature Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire sharing his vision for the stablecoin giant’s next move within the payments space.
Circle was in the news most recently after the firm announced plans to go public in the U.S., only to postpone the date of its IPO thanks to choppy and uncertain market conditions.

Ethereum-based real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform Blocksquare has partnered with a Florida-based real estate company to offer fractional ownership in a pipeline of US commercial properties valued at over $1 billion.
Announcing the deal on April 18, Blocksquare and Vera Capital said a marketplace would launch in the coming weeks to enable global investors to buy tokenized shares in “dozens of properties” located across seven US states.
According to two properties listed on Vera Capital’s website, the first tokenized properties that will be available are part of Vera Group’s existing holdings, which include a three-story office building in Fort Lauderdale and a retail plaza in Dania Beach.
Vitalik Buterin Proposes RISC-V to Replace Ethereum’s EVM.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is once again thinking long-term, and this time, he’s proposing something pretty radical: replacing Ethereum’s core execution engine, the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), with RISC-V, an open-source processor architecture.
Buterin thinks giving developers direct access to RISC-V, rather than routing everything through the EVM, could cut out a lot of unnecessary complexity. In some cases, such an upgrade could make things over 100 times more efficient.
While this RISC-V idea is very much long-term, Ethereum’s next major upgrade, Pectra, is much closer, set to go live on May 7. That’ll focus on rollup scaling, user experience, and validator stake limits.
