POAPs Gain Popularity

Proof of Attendance Protocol or POAP is becoming increasingly popular in the Web3 and NFT communities, particularly in the metaverse.
Major brands, such as Adidas, have experimented with early incorporation of POAPs into their sales campaigns.
POAP is a type of NFT that indicates you attended an event or had some sort of social or public experience somewhere.
That could be your concert ticket stub, a refrigerator magnet from a souvenir shop, or a badge from an important conference you attended.
A POAP NFT is a digital representation of these keepsakes.
POAPs will undoubtedly alter how we attend events and virtual gatherings. Users would become more choosy about where they want to go if this technology becomes hugely popular.
How to get a POAP
When you attend a POAP NFTs event, the organizer will either provide a QR code or a URL with the claim code. To claim your POAP, scan the QR code or enter the URL into a web browser.
POAP NFTs are intended to be kept in an Ethereum wallet. You can reserve the POAP NFT using your email address if you do not yet have a compatible blockchain wallet.
After entering the POAP NFT claim code, enter your email address to reserve it. Your POAP NFTs will be minted after you link your Ethereum wallet to your email address.
How to create a POAP
Event organizers can create a proof of attendance protocol NFT by going to the POAP platform or clicking on the link. Select the Create New POAP option.
Then: Insert the title, metadata related to the NFT like location, start date, end date, POAP NFT expiry date and a link to your website.
Upload a graphic file of the POAP art with the correct dimensions, in PNG format.
Copy the edit code somewhere safe. You can’t lose this because it’s required to make edits in the event later on.
Enter the email address where you want to receive the claim codes.
Enter the number of links you need or leave it blank if you’re going with a secret phrase or QR code.
Later, you’ll receive an email with a six-digit POAP ID number. You can find your POAP on the POAP Scan website by using that ID, and make changes to the event if you need to. You’ll have to wait for the POAP team to manually approve your POAP before it goes live.
If event organizers want to ensure a bigger footfall, they’ll have to get a lot more creative.
