Celebrities Who Own Land In Metaverse

By Vishakha Thakur

Since the beginning of 2022, metaverse has received a lot of attention. Celebrities and politicians have both used the metaverse to connect with their supporters. When Facebook announced that it would change its name to Meta and focus on building its digital reality, interest in metaverse real estate skyrocketed. Gucci, Snoop Dogg, Daler Mehndi, Warner Music Group, and other celebrities and corporations have already purchased real estate in the metaverse.

Snoop Dogg

The Snoopverse is being built by Snoop Dogg on The Sandbox, an Ethereum blockchain-based platform. He plans to use the site he purchased for virtual concerts, art and automobile exhibitions, pool parties, and shopping. It will also include a computerised recreation of his massive California mansion. In December 2021, an NFT collector paid $450,000 to become Snoop Dogg’s metaverse next-door neighbour by purchasing a digital parcel of land in his virtual reality.

Paris Hilton

The reality television personality and hotel heiress Paris Hilton owns Paris World, a Roblox virtual island. People can purchase a digital replica of her California home and closet on the island.

Andrew Yang

When Andrew Yang ran for political office, he used the metaverse to promote his candidature. While holding a press conference on the Zepeto platform, Yang ran for mayor of New York City. Yang was able to reach out to young voters because the majority of Zepeto users are members of Generation Z.

Pooja Entertainment

Pooja Entertainment, owned by film producer Vashu Bhagnani, recently acquired Poojaverse, a virtual property in the metaverse. The Mumbai-based production company is the first in Bollywood to purchase metaverse space. This virtual space will be used to create spectator experiences.

Lady Gaga

The pioneering Lady Gaga created a soundtrack pack for Beat Saber, a metaverse-themed VR rhythm game. Players can slash beats that come flying at them by wearing VR glasses. Green Day and Imagine Dragons, among others, have released songs for the popular game.
