David Maisel Launches Ekos Genesis Art Collection
The Ekos Genesis Art Collection has been made available for viewing in a virtual gallery at ekos.io, according to a release from Mythos Studios, an IP entertainment firm created by David Maisel, the founding chairman of Marvel Studios.
Original artwork by the late comic book artist Michael Turner and his frequent partner Peter Steigerwald, who had worked together on Marvel and DC comics as well as series for Turner’s Aspen Comics, is included in the NFT collection.
Aspen Comics is 50% owned by Mythos Studios, who also owns the underlying intellectual property. Characters from series like Fathom and the titular Ekos, Turner’s last work that had not yet been published when he passed away, are the focus of The Ekos Collection.
Maisel has been a longtime fan of Turner’s work and began collecting it in 2003. Each NFT is built on the original line art of Michael Turner and adds color inspired by different elements, such as the Pop Art movement, black light posters or neon lights.
